Effects of "disable Exchange Fast Access" on mailboxes with disabled caching
Hi guys,

Do you know whether "disable Exchange Fast Access" affects mailboxes with disabled caching? I have users for whom caching was enabled (for their primary mailboxes), but they also have additional mailboxes for which caching is disabled.

Also, do you know whether "disable Exchange Fast Access" affects non-email content, for which caching is disabled in users' primary mailboxes?

Thanks

Zoran

"Exchange Fast Access" controls how Outlook checks for new messages - if enabled, Outlook will download any new messages *before* syncing the OST file; if disabled, you will have to wait until the OST is synced to get the new messages. It only applies to cached mode, as in Online mode you always get the full list from the server.

Nice, thanks Vasil.

Can you please confirm that the statement below is incorrect?

In any case, Outlook 2013 includes hybrid mode, which means that its got the ability to switch between cached and online data to display information to the user faster. The gate is 400ms, measured when the user logs on and connects to Exchange and updated when the user switches folders. If the network connection is good enough, Outlook can switch into hybrid mode to fetch data from the server and if not, access the OST.

Thanks
